Timeless Elegance: Madison & Alex’s Wedding at Hotel Fort Des Moines

There’s something so magical about a wedding that feels both classic and personal, and Madison and Alex’s celebration at the Hotel Fort Des Moines was exactly that. Their day radiated timeless elegance, with romantic candlelight, formal touches, and an attention to detail that made every moment unforgettable.

From the very start, it was clear that this wedding would be a true reflection of the couple’s love and style. Madison and her bridesmaids prepared in the luxurious Presidential Suite, while Alex and his groomsmen prepped in the King Suite. The morning was full of laughter, champagne toasts, and the kind of excitement that makes getting ready feel like part of the celebration itself.

One of my favorite moments of the day was their private first look, a quiet and intimate pause before the whirlwind of the ceremony. They exchanged letters and gifts, and it was impossible not to feel the depth of their connection during those moments. These are the kinds of images that couples treasure forever authentic, emotional, and entirely theirs.

Their ceremony took place in the Wedgewood Room at the hotel, a space that perfectly suited their vision of classic romance. With soft candlelight, elegant décor, and thoughtful touches throughout, the room felt intimate and luxurious. Watching Madison walk down the aisle with her father, seeing Alex’s reaction, and capturing their vows and ring exchange was such an honor. Every glance, smile, and happy tear told a story of love, family, and joy.

After the ceremony, we captured photos with their bridal party and families. Madison and Alex’s bridal party, radiated joy and camaraderie, creating photos that are playful, heartfelt, and full of personality. Family photos were equally special, honoring the people closest to them and highlighting the connections that made the day feel so warm and meaningful.

The reception in the Grand Ballroom at Hotel Fort Des Moines carried the same elegance and romance. The evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, dancing, and even a private last dance that perfectly capped the night. Every detail, from the white and espresso color palette to the candlelit tables. It all reflected Madison and Alex’s timeless, formal style, inspired by a subtle “old money” aesthetic.

Madison and Alex’s wedding is a perfect example of how a Des Moines wedding can feel both timeless and personal, elegant, romantic, and full of moments that tell a story.
